Craig Goodwin turned in a man of the match performance scoring a brace in an FFA Cup Final moment that will live long in the memory of Reds fans.

Just one year removed from defeat in the FFA Cup Final 2017 against Sydney FC, the two sides would meet again, this time at a packed Coopers Stadium in front of 14,448 fans.

During the off-season, 2016 Premiership and Championship winner Craig Goodwin, returned to the Reds scoring five goals on route to lifting the FFA Cup for the second time in the Club’s history.

Two of those goals came in the FFA Cup Final in spectacular fashion. The first, a curling left-foot free kick from distance to open the scoring in the 25th minute. The second, a blistering right-foot half-volley in the 74th minute that hit the corner of the net with such velocity, it was torn from the upright.

“Obviously the 2018 FFA Cup Final for me, lives long in the memory,” said Goodwin.

“Being able to contribute, score the two goals the way I did, to win the Mark Viduka Medal is something very special. And what makes it even more special was to do it in front of a packed out Coopers Stadium, in front of friends and family.

“So for me that is something I will always remember.”
