Adelaide United Head Coach, Carl Veart, says his side is full of confidence ahead of their encounter with Wellington Phoenix on Friday night.
Speaking to media at Coopers Stadium, Veart opened up about the strong form his side is currently in, whilst also giving updates on the returns of some key players.
Facing the Nix:
“They’re a very good side.
“We can see that with where they are on the ladder, they’re right behind us.
“So it’s going to be an exciting game.
“They defend very well and break very quickly, so it’s really important that we don’t get caught in those transition moments.”
Undefeated streak:
“There’s no better feeling to come into training, when you’re performing well and winning games.
“The level of concentration is higher, the enjoyment factor is higher as well.
“So the boys are flying at the moment.
“To be fair, the players have really taken that on and they’ve been the real driving force this last eight, nine games.
“They’re the ones that are driving the performances on the pitch and it’s a clear factor that our senior players have really stood up in that last nine games.”
Bernardo, Madanha, Yull returning:
“They’re all settled back.
“They’re disappointed with their result at the end not making the World Cup but it’s important that they come back and keep working on themselves and get to that next level.
“We need the competition for places and all those three poor boys were right in the mix before they went away.
“They’ve had a good week on the track and they’ll be in consideration for the game tomorrow night.”
Ibusuki’s noggin:
“He’s all good now.
“He’s got the ‘all clear’ from the doc, so he’s available to play tomorrow.
“The wound has healed quite well and now it’s just a matter of protecting it so we don’t open it up again.”
