Adelaide United Women goalkeeper Sarah Willacy and forward Mallory Weber have been named in the PFA team of the season for the Westfield W-League 2019/20 campaign.
The pair, voted by their peers from the Professional Footballers Australia, enjoyed impressive seasons, despite the Reds collectively experiencing a frustrating year.
Willacy was the only player under Head Coach, Ivan Karlović to play every minute of all 12 games.
“I am very honoured to be voted by my peers in the PFA Team of the Season,” she said.
“It’s a privilege as there are many great goalkeepers in the W-League.
“I can’t wait to see what next season brings and look forward to continuing to build as a team.”
The 24-year-old’s stock has continued to rise since cementing her spot as Adelaide’s number one goalkeeper during the 2017/18 season.
She was also awarded the Save of the Season for an acrobatic, diving stop against Melbourne City in Round 3.
Willacy’s stellar performances further saw her receive a maiden call-up to the Westfield Matildas for friendly matches against Chile in November 2019, but was an unused substitute.
Meanwhile, in her first season in Australia from the United States, forward Weber played an integral role for the Club, on loan from Utah Royals.
The 26-year-old scored four goals in 11 appearances and was a constant threat for opposition defences with her dribbling ability.
