Young Reds Reserves look to advance to Grand Final

Adelaide United Reserves will go into the Second Leg of the Major Semi-Final with a two-goal buffer, ahead of the return fixture with MetroStars at Adelaide City Park on Saturday.

Peter Katsambis and Aladin Irabona both found the back of the net in the Young Reds Reserves vital 2-0 away result at TK Shutter Reserve last week.

Head Coach, Paul Pezos, insisted that his side will treat the Second Leg as an entirely new game, and that a win is crucial, regardless of their advantage.

“It is always good to have that goal buffer heading into the next game, but it will be a new day, and game,” Pezos said.

“We will treat it as a new game, as nil-all, and we will be going out there for the win at all costs.

“If we win this Saturday, we will be off to the Grand Final, so nothing changes regarding tactics.

“Everything stays the same and we will play our football, the way we have been throughout the season, and what we displayed last week.”

Pezos revealed that the Young Reds Reserves’ focus remains solely on their own game and to achieve their destined goal, the Grand Final, in which is more than attainable.

“As a team, we don’t change for any opponent, and I believe that our best football is enough to beat any side.

“Ahead of the Second Leg this Saturday, we will focus on ourselves and what we have set out to do.

“And that way, we will let our opponents worry about us, and what we are going to do next on the pitch.

The Young Reds Reserves take on MetroStars in the second leg of their major semi final at Adelaide City Park on Saturday, 26 August. Kick-off 12:00pm.
