Your Story Starts Here: Meet Our Members

As part of our 2025/26 Membership campaign, Your Story Starts Here, we’re shining a spotlight on the people who make Adelaide United truly special: Our Members.

From lifelong Reds and passionate families to new fans of football who’ve found their home at Coopers, every Member has a story.

These are the moments they’ll never forget, and the reasons they keep showing up.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing a series of stories from real Members, in their own words.

Some stories began decades ago. Others are just getting started. But all of them speak to what makes being part of this Club something special.

Ash & Archer
A match day tradition, a birthday they’ll never forget.

For Ash and his son Archer, being Adelaide United members is about more than just the 90 minutes on the pitch; it’s a full family tradition. Living an hour away, they make a day of it: dinner before the match, cheering from the stands, and reliving every moment on the drive home.

One memory stands out most. “I’ll never forget where I was when we rocked up to Woodside for Archer’s birthday,” Ash says. “It was a Hummer [Limo] Tour game, a night filled with mates, goals, and laughter. Nestor scored a hat trick, and all the boys got to run out on the pitch after the game and kick the ball around with their parents before we caught the Hummer home. It was a night we’ll never forget.”

Justin
A bond built on football and one unforgettable comeback.

For Justin, supporting Adelaide United has always been about more than results, it’s been a way to stay close with his dad. “It’s a vehicle for catching up, for spending time together. Win or lose, it’s something that brings us closer.”

His favourite memory? A classic Coopers night in 2019 when Adelaide faced Brisbane Roar. Down 3–0, a man down, and seemingly out of the contest, the Reds fought back in true A-League fashion. A long-range free kick from Isaías, a Craig Goodwin strike, and a chaotic, bouncing goal off George Blackwood’s shin sent the stadium into chaos. “The place was electric. I said to Dad, ‘We’ve got the momentum, we’ll win this.’ And we did.” For Justin, it’s not just about the comeback, it’s about moments like that, shared with the people who matter most.

Amber, Immy, Zihan & Lyla
Belonging, friendship, and the future of the game.

For Amber, Immy, Zihan and Lyla, Adelaide United has been more than just a football club; it’s been a place of connection, inclusion, and inspiration.

“It gave me a sense of belonging,” Amber says. “It’s where I met you guys, and I’m so grateful for that friendship.” For the group, match days have become a shared ritual full of chants, celebration, and community.

They’ll never forget where they were when the Reds beat Sydney FC in a double header, or the night Adelaide won its first-ever Women’s Elimination Final against Western United. “It was history,” they agree. “We were part of something bigger and we got to experience it together.”

What makes it even more meaningful is seeing women players lead the way. “They’re so down to earth, and they show young girls what’s possible. It makes you feel like you belong…like one day, you could be out there too.”

Ethan
From the stands today, the pitch tomorrow.

For Ethan, Adelaide United is more than a club- it’s a second home. From watching his favourite players light up Coopers to feeling the energy of the Red Army, match days provide a sense of belonging and inspiration. “The atmosphere, the adrenaline… it’s next level.”

One moment stands above the rest: Steven Hall’s debut in 2022. Sitting next to his dad, Ethan watched the League’s youngest-ever goalkeeper take the field, and afterwards, got to take home his gloves. “It inspired me so much. One day, I hope I can be the one stepping onto the pitch at Coopers.”

There was also the day he tracked down Ethan Cox mid-game to get a signed shirt: no pen, no problem. It’s moments like these that make being a Red unforgettable.

Jamie, Jess, Megan & Leo
A family tradition. A future inspired.

For Jamie, Adelaide United offers something rare; a mix of family, fun, and peace. What started as solo match days years ago has grown into something much bigger. “I used to come alone, back when the Women’s League was at Burton. Now I’m here with my daughter, showing her what’s possible in front of a sold-out Coopers Stadium.”

One night in particular stands out. An unforgettable win over Newcastle Jets in the 88th minute. “We were in our usual seats, same ones we’ve had for years. The boys came charging toward us after scoring, arms swinging, nearly jumping into the crowd. The whole stadium just erupted. The vibe didn’t die down for ages.”

It’s those moments, and the people you share them with, that keep Jamie and Megan coming back.

These are just a few of the countless stories that began at Coopers Stadium.
