Adelaide United’s Junior Development Program wraps up for Term 1

Adelaide United’s Junior Development Program kicked off 2024 with a bang!

Term one of the program recently concluded and was met with extremely positive feedback from both participants and parents.

Adelaide United’s Head of Junior Development, Marcelo Carrusca, recently sat down to speak to AUFC Media on the journey so far and shared his excitement for what lies ahead.

Spread across three different venues with over 300 participants, a highlight of Term 1 was the addition of the Southern Soccer Facility at Cove FC, where Carrusca and his team were impressed by the skill level demonstrated by the young players.

“It was fantastic to open a new Southern location. We welcomed over 70 participants, who showed huge promise. We’re excited to be back at Cove FC for Term 2”

Carrusca also highlighted the diverse mix of young and experienced coaches within the squad, acknowledging their pivotal role in creating a positive and enriching environment for the kids.

“We are very grateful for the coaches we have in our squad. We have a mixture of young and experienced coaches that have been doing a fantastic job. And we see the positive impact in every single session” said Carrusca.

“The kids are enjoying the coaches and enjoying the sessions, and we are creating a good, positive environment so that the kids are learning more”

Looking ahead to Term 2, Carrusca emphasised the program’s commitment to individual growth within a team environment and reiterated their dedication to nurturing each player’s potential both on and off the field.

“Term 2 is going to be bigger and better. We are looking forward to seeing everybody again, and also to see new faces as well, because we like to have players with different skill abilities and want to help every single one of them” said Carrusca.

“Of course we train in a team environment, but we are focused on the individual so hopefully, every single kid can excel on the field and off the field as well”
