Liverpool FC have announced their 30-man playing squad that will tour Australia to take on Brisbane Roar and Adelaide United later this month.
The Merseyside club will depart their Melwood training base on Sunday afternoon with Bangkok the first stop on their pre-season schedule.
The Reds will play John Aloisi’s side at Suncorp Stadium on Friday 17 July and their namesake at the Adelaide Oval on Monday 20 July, before winding up their two-week tour in Kula Lumpur.
Jordan Henderson will lead the squad after Liverpool confirmed he will inherit the captain’s armband from Steven Gerrard, while new signings James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan, Nathaniel Clyne and Joe Gomez have all been named.
Brendan Rogers will also bring with him his new backroom team, which includes former Reds midfielder Gary McAllister, who was appointed the club’s new first team coach on Saturday.
Controversial winger Raheem Sterling has also been included despite ongoing speculation about his future but Brazilian stars Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho have been omitted following their participation in the Copa America.
As well as taking on the Roar and Reds, Liverpool will conduct an open training session on the eve of their respective matches and conduct a number of community engagement events during their Australia visit.
