Reds and UCAN unveil flamboyant third kit for 2021/22

Adelaide United is excited to present its majestic new UCAN third kit for the 2021/22 season.

For the first time in the Club’s history, the third kit utilises a fusion coral colour in an expression of confidence and vibrancy.

Inspired by the 1990s jersey culture and developed with UCAN’s Utech Dry technology, the shirt features an exquisite old-school style collar as well as deep red and white trimming on the sleeves to complete the retro design.

A combination of jacquard and spandex has been used for the kit’s material. The spandex, in particular, providing elevated elasticity and softness, but the combination of fabrics giving the shirts a high-density mesh structure and silky feel – smooth and icy to the touch.

To maintain a consistent and sharp aesthetic, the Club badge is printed solely in deep red and embossed on the shirt.

The piping shrike appears on the back of the neck, reminding fans Adelaide United is the team for all South Australians, in addition to the Club’s foundation year, 2003.

The inside of the collar will also display the ‘More Than Football’ inscription – a nod to the Club’s philosophy and values.

The kit is complemented with white shorts and white socks to create a striking and impactful look.

Adelaide United’s Head of Marketing and Communications, Marius Zanin, said: “As a Club, we wanted to make a really bold statement with our third kit and do something totally different to what we have done in the past.

“The third strip enables us to have more creative freedom and be a little less conservative with our colour choices.

“As a Club, we couldn’t be more pleased with the end result and believe this bold step will resonate with our passionate supporters as we continue to push barriers.

“Once again, UCAN has been sensational collaborators in bringing this concept to fruition, and we cannot wait to share both our home, away, and goalkeeper kits with our fans in the coming weeks.”

UCAN’s Global General Manager, Ally Zhao, said: “We’re really thrilled with this new Adelaide United kit and I’m confident the Club’s fans will be as impressed with it as we are.

“After the success of last season’s kits in the inaugural year of our partnership, we wanted to hit the ground running once again and feel like we’ve done just that.

“Our partnership with Adelaide United has been really beneficial in allowing us to explore innovative ideas and designs as well as enter a new market.”

To continue with the retro theme, the Club’s Platinum Partner, Australian Outdoor Living’s, logo will be stacked on the front of the ISUZU Ute A-League third kit to complement the 90s style jerseys.

SA Power Networks will be placed on the A-League Women kit for a ninth straight year.

Platinum Partner, Starfish Developments, will continue to appear on the back of shirt for ISUZU Ute A-League matches and the famous McDonald’s logo will again be located on the right sleeve for both competitions.
