Adelaide United will play Adelaide City in the Australia Cup 2022 Round of 16 after Wednesday night’s draw.
The date, venue and time will be confirmed at a later date by Football Australia.
This will be the first meeting between the two sides in the Australia Cup, and the second time the Reds face a South Australian outfit after beating Adelaide Olympic 1-0 last year.
Adelaide advanced to the last 16 for a seventh time following a 2-0 win over Newcastle Jets, courtesy of goals from George Blackwood and Hiroshi Ibusuki.
The Black and Whites defeated Logan Lightning 1-0 in their opening round clash.
United won the inaugural tournament in 2014 before clinching the trophy again in 2018 and 2019 to become the most successful team in the competition’s history.
