Adelaide United is pleased to officially announce Michael Jakobsen has re-signed with the Club for the upcoming A-League 2021/22 season.
Jakobsen’s contract was set to expire but the experienced centre-back has agreed terms to a new deal to remain in Adelaide for what will be his fourth season with the Club.
Since the Dane’s arrival in 2018, the 35-year-old has accumulated 78 appearances, won two FFA Cups, and also served as the Reds’ Captain for one campaign.
Speaking about re-signing with the Reds, Jakobsen said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time playing at Adelaide United and experienced some great success along the way.
“My family love the city and have settled into life in Adelaide really well.
“We all wanted to stay here so it’s exciting.
“As a club, we’ve been able to achieve some great things together and I’m confident that we can continue to build on our recent progress and compete again in the new season.”
Head Coach, Carl Veart, said: “We’re delighted Michael has committed his future to the Club for another year.
“Michael is one of our leaders and an incredibly consistent performer in the team.
“He provides a lot of experience and calmness to our defence and is always willing to impart his knowledge to his teammates.”
