Adelaide United remained unbeaten to start the Isuzu UTE A-League season following its six-nil victory over reigning premier Melbourne City on Sunday night.

It is the first time the club has won its opening two matches since the 2012/13 campaign, and only the second time in the club’s history that it has started a season with consecutive wins.

The Reds are now undefeated in eight A-League Men’s matches against Melbourne City (W4, D4), and the result made it consecutive wins against City for the first time since April 2016.

Here are some other stats that will help impress your mates:

  • At 17 years and 351 days old, Musa Toure’s 81st minute goal made him the fifth youngest scorer for Adelaide United behind his brother Mohamed Toure (15y 325d), Nestory Irankunda (15y 355d), Luka Jovanović (17y 295d), and Bernardo (17y 333d).
  • Musa Toure’s goal meant he and brothers Mohamed and Al Hassan were the first trio of brothers to score A-League goals for a single club since Adam, Ryan and Joel Griffiths for Newcastle (between 2006 and 2011). John, Mike and Rob O’Shea also each scored for St George (1977-1986) in the National Soccer League years, and Dimitri and Kosta Petratos and their sister Panagiota have all scored for the Newcastle Jets across the A-League Men’s and Women’s competitions.
  • Adelaide United’s 6-0 win is the club’s third biggest A-League Men’s victory after its 8-1 win against North Queensland Fury in 2011 and its 7-0 win over Newcastle Jets in 2015.
  • Zach Clough covered 12,505 meters during his last match. This is the longest distance covered by a current AUFC player in a single match in the last 2 seasons.
