Adelaide United Youth Reserves player, Luis Lawrie-Lattanzio, has been added to the Joeys’ 30-player training camp squad after Tim Caroutas from UE Cornella in Spain was forced to withdraw due to injury, Football Federation Australia announced today.

Lawrie-Lattanzio has scored 12 goals in 14 games across all competitions for the NPL Reserves side this season, while also featuring in two matches for the United Youth team.

The Joeys will convene in Canberra on Thursday, 11 July 2019, with the camp at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) running for a week.

On the first night of camp the Joeys will find out who they will face in the Group Stage of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil in October and November, as the draw is conducted at FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.

The 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup will be held between October 26 and November 17 in Brazil, with 24 nations from six confederations divided into six groups of four.

The Joeys will have another overseas tour inclusive of friendly matches prior to this year’s World Cup, and will also have a pre-FIFA U-17 World Cup training camp in South America prior to kick-off in the tournament.
