Adelaide United will look to make it three wins in a row before the end of their season, against Cumberland United in the PlayStation 4 National Premier League at The Parks Football Centre on Saturday.

The Young Reds have illustrated their abilities on the field, and bossed recent matches including their comprehensive 2-1 win over Croydon Kings.

As well as the 3-2 spectacle against WT Birkalla that will see the Reds continue to play National Premier League football in 2018.

Their opponent this weekend, Cumberland United have succumbed to the hard reality of relegation with only three wins this season.

The Foxes had defeated Adelaide United in Round 11, Jace Cummins the sole goal-scorer.

Adelaide United Youth Head Coach, Huss Skenderovic, said the match is the perfect opportunity to give some of the younger players of the squad a run.

“We had to fight through most of our season, so we will make a few changes for the weekend,” he said.

“We will give some of the boys a rest, so it will be fitting to reward some of the younger boys to get some game time.

“They deserve some of that exposure, and we are about development and they can see what a senior game of football is like.”

Skenderovic said that there is a great atmosphere with the Club after what has been achieved this season, and they will only get better and strive for more success.

“Everyone is really happy with the team’s performance, myself as a Coach, the staff and the Club in general.

“We are really proud of the achievement, as we are a younger team it has been a huge positive, especially on the developmental side.

“I think that everyone surrounding the Club has identified the successful campaign.

“It is a great buzz because it gives us a lot of self-belief that we will be stronger next season with this core group, after the experience of this year.

“There was a good level of consistency amongst the players and the way that they have developed, and some that reached a new level.

“Hamish and Liam McCabe were two players that stood up and played a huge part, and they will be even better next season.

“Ryan Strain had a great season, and started every match and scored the most goals, he was tremendous.

“Blake Carpenter was also very consistent, the whole side really progressed and it is great to see for our future.”
