Adelaide United is pleased to announce Meleri Mullan has signed with the Club for the upcoming Westfield W-League 2020/21 season.
The 20-year-old returns to the Reds after a strong year in the local Women’s National Premier League (WNPL) with Salisbury Inter, where she scored three goals in 17 appearances.
Mullan was in the Adelaide squad during the 2018/19 campaign and made her debut as a late substitute in a 0-0 draw against Melbourne Victory.
Speaking on re-joining the Club, Mullan said: “I’m really happy to be re-signing with Adelaide United.
“I’ve had a couple of difficult years with injury, but I’m over that now and I just want to play as consistently as possible.
“We have a great bunch of girls and an awesome coaching staff, so I can’t wait for the season to start.”
Adelaide United’s Westfield W-League Head Coach, Adrian Stenta, said: “We’re delighted to have signed Meleri for the impending season.
“She had a solid year with Salisbury Inter in the WNPL and has been involved in our optional pre-season training sessions for some time and fully deserves her place in the squad.
“Having previously been around the W-League set up, Meleri also knows what is required at this level and has improved a lot as a player.”
Head of Women’s Football, Ivan Karlović, added: “Meleri’s addition bolsters the depth in the team and provides us with another attacking option.
“We expect to make further signing announcements very soon as we have nearly finalised the last few spots on our playing roster for the upcoming season.”
