James Delianov and Louis D’Arrigo played crucial roles in preserving Adelaide United’s slender lead late in the contest following a goal-mouth scramble.
The Reds defeated Brisbane Roar at Moreton Daily Stadium 2-1 in its Elimination Final.
Delianov made six saves during the match and experienced a busy second stanza with Adelaide under the cosh.
“Obviously a quieter game is always preferred for a goalkeeper,” Delianov told Fox Sports.
“But I’m happy to play my role and happy with the win to be honest.”
The 21-year-old goalkeeper saved his best stop for last, making himself as big as possible to deny Golgol Mebrahtu from point-blank range.
“You don’t really think that much in those situations,” he said.
“So was happy to make the save and happy for the win.”

Seconds prior to that clutch block, D’Arrigo made a timely clearance off the line, despite what appeared to be a foul on Delianov when he was contesting a headed attempt.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who became the youngest Reds player to reach 50 appearances for the Club on Sunday, believed it was a game of two halves.
“We scored two early goals, I think we were in control,” D’Arrigo said to Fox Sports.
“I think we were in the game in the first-half and then second-half I’m not sure, we dropped to deep.”
Adelaide will go into the game against Sydney FC as clear underdogs but D’Arrigo was adamant the Reds could pull off a huge upset.
“We have done it before this year and we can do it again,” he said.
“They’re a good team but if we go out there and give 100% we can make the final, anything is possible.”
