Adelaide United Football Club would like to provide the following update on its National Premier League squad.
Adelaide United can announce the additions of Aladdin Irabona, from Croydon Kings, Jordan Maricic, from Campbelltown City, and Apostolos Stamatelopoulos, from Adelaide Comets.
Adelaide United would like to thank these players’ previous clubs for helping develop Aladdin, Jordan, and Apostolos, as the Club welcomes their arrivals, which will add to the depth of the current team.
A special mention has to also be made to Carl Veart and the Football Federation of South Australia (FFSA) National Training Centre (NTC) program, as all three players have come through this system, which is aimed at developing the skills and abilities of young footballers through a game-related approach to trainings.
The Club would also like to announce, recent signing, Marc Marino, has joined the Reds’ NPL team to gain extra match fitness and experience ahead of the upcoming Hyundai A-League 2016/17 season.
Meanwhile, Ruon Tongyik will depart the Club after making it known that he would prefer to pursue other opportunities.
Adelaide United would like to make known its desire to have kept Tongyik, however he and his management have decided it is best for his career to continue his football elsewhere.
Commenting on the current NPL squad, Adelaide United Youth Team Head Coach, Mark Jones, said: “The purpose of our Youth Team is continue the development of young footballers that we believe can progress into A-League players.
“As a result we’re constantly working with our players to find who can make the step into senior, professional football, and that will mean players come and go.
“We’re pleased to be bringing in Aladdin, Jordan, and Apostolos and we must thank their clubs and the NTC program for not only developing these boys so well, but their cooperation and support in bringing the players to the Club.
“An important part of developing our players is not only ensuring we have a strong squad, but also focusing on bringing in the next group of talented youths.
“We’ve played some very good football this season and started tremendously well, but with the emphasis put on ensuring our first team were successful, we found it difficult to keep our good form.
“But now getting closer to having a full squad ready to go, we’re optimistic about finishing the season similar to how we started it and climbing the table as much as possible.”
