Adelaide United is delighted to announce the re-signing of goalkeeper, Eliza Campbell, for the upcoming Westfield W-League 2017/18 campaign.

Campbell, who first joined the Reds last season, will continue in her role between the sticks for Ivan Karlović’s side.

The 22-year-old New South Wales native was a standout for the AUFC Women last campaign, so much so Campbell earned herself a Matildas call-up in July ahead of the Tournament of Nations.

Known for her bravery and lightning-quick reactions, Campbell’s re-signing was welcomed by Karlović, whose squad is taking shape positively.

“Being able to retain Eliza for the upcoming season is a very big, positive step for our squad,” Karlović said.

“Eliza showcased her abilities last season while she was with Adelaide United and the entire competition took note of her quality in goal.

“She has plenty of experience in the W-League and is a true leader – things that our team will undoubtedly benefit from throughout the season.”

Campbell was ecstatic to remain with the Reds for another season, saying: “It feels really great to sign back with Adelaide United.

“I’m looking forward to working with Ivan and also playing with a great group of girls again.

“I think we have the potential to go all the way in the W-League this season and we can definitely work off the momentum we created last season.

“It took us some time for our football to gel last year, but I’m confident we can be a strong force from the outset.”
