Adelaide United midfielder, Ethan Alagich, says he lived out a childhood dream after starting his first competitive match for the Reds against Melbourne Victory on Friday night.
Alagich was superb throughout his starting debut, desperately and inspiringly throwing himself into challenges left, right, and centre.
Speaking post-match, the 18-year-old gave his initial thoughts on the occasion.
Starting debut in the Original Rivalry:
“It was incredible.
“It’s a dream come true and I’ve dreamed of this day for so long now.
“To make my starting debut, it’s unbelievable and in front of this crowd as well, it’s crazy.
“I think it’s the best fixture in the league, the Original Rivalry, it can’t get much better than that.
“Like I said, it’s something I’ve been working for my whole life and so to finally make that happen it’s incredible.
“(Now I’ve) just got to keep working each and every day and hopefully get better.”
