Adelaide United Head Coach, Adrian Stenta, was left ‘really proud’ of his side, following their 2-1 comeback win over Perth Glory.

Dylan Holmes levelled proceedings two minutes after United went 1-0 down soon after the restart.

Fiona Worts then popped up with 20 minutes remaining to nod the hosts in front and seal the three points for Stenta’s side – the first in nine matches.

Speaking to media post-game, Stenta gave his thoughts on the performance overall.

Stenta said:
“We almost threw it away there at the end.

“A little bit of adversity again, coming out cold in the start of the second half and giving away a cheap goal.

“But it’s been building for a few weeks and, once again, we went behind and responded.

“The girls ran really hard and put in a lot of effort, coming into the game with a really aggressive mindset, which is what we tried to do.

“I’m really proud because (this result) shows that the group’s got resilience.

“It would have been easy for them to just throw their hands up (after conceding) and, after the season we’re having, to say: ‘It’s all too hard’.

“But this team is still really driven.

“We’ve set a target with what we want to do for the last four games of the season and we took a good step towards (that target).”
