Adelaide United Head Coach, Carl Veart, was left pleased to see his side come away with all three points over the Newcastle Jets on Saturday night.
Goals from Craig Goodwin, Zach Clough, Luka Jovanović, and Nestory Irankunda out-scored the Jets 4-2. The win leaves the Reds clear-second in the Isuzu UTE A-League table – the side’s highest position in 2022/23.
Speaking to Paramount+ post-match, Veart game his immediate thoughts on the clash.
Veart said:
“It’s a very difficult place to come and play.
“They put you under a lot of pressure and they press very aggressively, so we’re very happy with the performance.
“We gave away one or two soft goals, but I’m very happy that the boys dug in.
“We came out in the second half and we were sloppy, we weren’t switched on.
“But then, once we got through that patch, the boys then switched on and did the work.”
