Adelaide United Football Club farewells central midfielder, Louis D’Arrigo, who has joined second division Polish Club, Lechia Gdańsk.
D’Arrigo became United’s youngest player to reach 100 games for the Club last season at just 21, following his debut in March 2019.
D’Arrigo went on to win the Australia Cup later that year, starting in the Final that United won 4-0 over Melbourne City.
Speaking on the switch, D’Arrigo said:
“It was a tough decision to make as United are my hometown team and they were the ones who gave me my debut.
“It has been an absolute pleasure to play in front of the Reds faithful and my team-mates and I will miss it, but it was time for a new challenge at this stage of my career.
“I wanted to thank all of the coaches who gave me the opportunity to break into professional football, and the unwavering United fans for their support over the years.
Head Coach, Carl Veart, said: “We wish Louis the best as he is a been a fine servant to the Club over the last three or four seasons.
“Moves are made in football, and we wouldn’t hold anyone back from trying to reach the very top level.
“We thank Louis for his services on and off the pitch.”
