United Waves Goodbye To Warland

Adelaide United can announce the departure of defender Ben Warland.

Ben came through the ranks via the AIS program in his younger years, after junior spells at Gawler Eagles and Campbelltown City.

He then made his A-League debut in 2014/15 under Josep Gombau and went on to make 50 appearances for the Reds over two stints with the club, scoring three times.

Ben was also a part of the Adelaide United squad that won the 2015/16 A-League Premiership and Championship. He also picked up an Australia Cup runners-up medal in 2017.

The 27-year-old won a Premiership and a Championship with Sydney FC before re-signing with the Reds in 2022.

Ben reflected on his time with the club:

“I’d like to thank the coaching and office staff for all they’ve done for me over these couple of years.

“A big thank you to the Red Army and the fans for turning up at Coopers Stadium to watch us play. You create a great atmosphere, and I know all the boys love your support,” Ben added.

“To my teammates, I would like to thank you for making these two years really enjoyable. From on the field to off the field, you guys helped so much along the way,” Warland concluded.

Coach Carl Veart said:

“Ben is a fantastic person and offered a lot to us on and off the field.

“He was a great role model for our younger players, and we thank him for his contributions over his two spells with us,” Veart concluded.

The club would like to wish Ben and the Warland family all the best for the future and hopes to see them back at Coopers Stadium in the future.
