ALW Fab Four Pens New Deals Ahead Of New Season

Adelaide United is excited to announce the contract extensions of four key ALW players ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

Katie Bowler and Zoe Tolland have signed two-year contracts, while Meleri Mullan and Sarah Morgan have committed to one more season with the Club.

Adelaide United’s Head of Football, Marius Zanin, expressed his excitement about having the four players secured for the upcoming season.

“After a very learnable season, where the playing group showed some really positive glimpses of what they are capable of, we are certain the players can bring the required energy and positivity both on and off the pitch,” said Zanin.

“The dedication and growth we’ve seen from the team are encouraging, and we believe this will translate into stronger performances moving forward.

“We also acknowledge the importance of putting faith in our young South Australian players, and we are really excited to have Katie, Zoe, and Meleri commit again.

“Additionally, we’re thrilled to welcome back Sarah Morgan, whose experience and skill set will be invaluable in bolstering our squad.”

Zoe Tolland (21), a proud South Australian, has played 23 times for the Reds across two seasons. Reflecting on her re-signing, Zoe emphasised the significance of representing her hometown club.

“I’m super excited to sign with Adelaide United again! Growing up in Adelaide, it’s an honour to represent my hometown club and wear the red shirt. I can’t wait to get started and am looking forward to a strong season with this team,” Tolland said.

Gearing up for her fifth season with the Reds, local fan favourite Meleri Mullan (24), who has made 26 appearances for the Club, is eager to continue contributing.

“I’m thrilled to sign on for another season with Adelaide United. The success I’ve experienced with West Adelaide in the WNPL this season has only fuelled my hunger to achieve more with the Reds.

“I’m eager to bring that winning mentality into the team and be a leader in the dressing room. I can’t wait to get started and help drive the club to new heights,” Mullan shared.

Sarah Morgan (23) joined the Reds in 2023 from NPL NSW side Spirit FC and has made 19 appearances for the Club. A Young Matildas representative, Morgan earned selection in 2018 following her debut season in the Liberty A-League with Canberra United.

On re-signing, Sarah expressed her enthusiasm: “Signing on for this season is incredibly exciting! I’m thrilled to be part of a club with such a strong culture and passionate fans. I’m eager to contribute to the team’s success and can’t wait to get started!” Morgan said.

Local youngster Katie Bowler, who made her Liberty A-League debut in 2023 for the Reds, has since played 20 games for the Club, scoring twice.

Ahead of her third season, Katie said: “It’s an honour to be part of this club, and I’m grateful for every opportunity I get to represent this team. I’m very excited for the upcoming season and can’t wait to be back on the pitch with the girls.”

The Club looks forward to seeing these players make a significant impact on the pitch and continue to represent The People’s Club.
