Adelaide United is delighted to announce that centurion midfielder Emily Condon has signed a new one-year contract with the Club, with the option to extend for an additional year.
Condon, 26, has been a vital part of the Reds since joining the squad in the 2013/14 A-League Women season. Hailing from Port Pirie, Condon has become a cornerstone of the team, renowned for her technical prowess and exceptional dribbling ability.
Over the years, she has made 104 appearances for Adelaide United, scoring 15 goals, and currently shares the record for the most appearances in the Club’s history.
In January 2019, Condon became just the second Reds player to reach 50 games for the Club, achieving this milestone in a match against Canberra United. She recently celebrated her 100th match during the 2023/24 campaign in an away fixture against the Central Coast Mariners, solidifying her status as one of the most experienced players in the squad.
Condon’s impressive form during the 2017/18 season earned her a call-up to the Matildas squad, where she made her international debut against Portugal in the 2018 Algarve Cup.
Most recently, Condon concluded the Go Sunny Solar WNPLSA campaign with Salisbury Inter, scoring two goals in 11 matches, further showcasing her consistency and skill on the pitch.
Adelaide United’s Head of Football, Marius Zanin, expressed his excitement about Condon’s decision to extend her stay with the Club:
“Emily has been a fantastic servant to Adelaide United, and we’re thrilled to have her continue with us for another season.
“Her experience, leadership, and talent are invaluable assets to our squad, and we’re excited to see her contribute even more in the coming seasons.”
Emily Condon added:
“I’m incredibly proud to continue my journey with Adelaide United. This Club means so much to me, and I’m eager to keep pushing myself and helping the team achieve great things. I’m looking forward to what the future holds.”
This new agreement will see Emily Condon remain a key figure in Adelaide United’s midfield as the team continues to build towards another successful season in the A-League Women.
