Stenta: A Very, Very Positive Afternoon

Adelaide United Head Coach Adrian Stenta spoke to United Media following his side’s first win of the season against Western Sydney Wanderers.

Stenta on his side cementing their first win of the 24/25 season with a 2-0 victory over WSW:

“I thought it was a game of two halves. The wind here [Western Sydney] is quite strong, so difficult to play in the second half. I felt like our first half was excellent; we probably could have had a couple more goals if not for poor finishing and some fantastic saves as well. I’m really happy that we continued to apply ourselves in the second half and kept a clean sheet as well. A very, very positive afternoon.

Stenta on Fiona Wort’s goal-scoring form:

“I’m really happy to have her back. I think she’s really settled. She’s loving being back in Adelaide and we’re reaping the rewards of that. Her combinations with other attacking players are starting to grow and develop. I look forward to a big season from her.

Stenta on Emily Condon starting and joining Worts on the scoresheet:

“It’s been great to be in a position where I’ve been able to actually start Emily, which I haven’t been able to do for the last couple of years. She’s continuing to build meaningful minutes and is contributing at training and in games. The better and healthier she gets, the more we’re going to benefit from having her out on the park.

Stenta on facing an undefeated Canberra United in Round Three:

“It’s always difficult to go to Canberra and they’ve got a quality side. They’re playing really well at the moment, but for now we will enjoy the win!”
