Adelaide United is thrilled to announce that three of its most promising young talents – Joey Garuccio, Sotirios Phillis, and Vinko Stanisic – have signed their first professional contracts with the Club.

The trio have each signed three-year scholarship contracts, with an option to extend, further reinforcing the Club’s commitment to developing elite South Australian talent and providing a clear pathway to professional football.
Garuccio (19), Phillis (18), and Stanisic (18) have all progressed through their junior Clubs, Football SA talent identification and development system and have been rewarded for their consistent work ethic, strong performances, and dedication.
Their signings mark an exciting step in their footballing journeys and represent a proud milestone for their families and communities, as well as a powerful example to aspiring youth players in South Australia.
Adelaide United Technical Director, Ernest Faber, praised the players’ attitude and growth, stating:
“These contracts are the result of hard work and a strong mindset. Joey, Sotirios, and Vinko have shown professionalism and maturity beyond their years and set a great example for our youth players.

Joey Garuccio (19, midfielder), who came through Cumberland United and the Football SA Program, said:
“I’m honoured to sign my first professional contract with my childhood club. Adelaide United has always been a big part of my life, and to now be part of the senior team is a dream come true. I’m excited to get started and give everything for the badge.”

Sotirios Phillis (18, defender), developed through Adelaide Omonia Cobras, West Torrens Birkalla, and the Football SA Program, added:
“This is a really proud and emotional moment for me and my family. Adelaide United means so much to me, and I’ve dreamt of playing for this club since I was a kid. I’m grateful for the opportunity and ready to give everything for the team and our fans.”
Vinko Stanisic (18, defender), who progressed through FK Beograd, Adelaide Comets, Adelaide Olympic, and the Football SA Program, said:
“Signing my first professional contract with my boyhood club is something I’ll never forget. I’m so thankful to everyone at the Club who’s helped me grow as a player and a person. I’m determined to keep working hard and help take the Club forward.”
