Adelaide United is delighted to announce the signings of exciting young Australian talents India Breier and Kiera Meyers for the 2026/27 A-League Women season.
Breier, 20, joins the Reds on a one-year scholarship contract, while 19-year-old Meyers has signed a one-year deal, with the pair continuing a shared pathway through Australia’s youth national teams in Adelaide.
Both were selected together in the CommBank Young Matildas squad for a training camp in February ahead of the 2026 AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup.
A versatile left-sided player, Breier arrives following two seasons with Newcastle Jets, having previously made her A-League Women debut with Western Sydney Wanderers in 2023.
Originally emerging as an attacking winger, Breier has also developed into a left-sided defender and was selected in Australia’s squad for this year’s AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup in Thailand.
She also featured throughout the Young Matildas’ qualification campaign in 2025, scoring directly from a corner in Australia’s 14-0 victory over Tajikistan.
Breier said the move presented an important opportunity to continue her development.
“I’m really excited to be joining Adelaide United. It’s a massive opportunity for me and a new chapter that I’m ready to embrace,” Breier said.
“I want to keep pushing myself in a new environment and be part of a positive, competitive culture.
“I’m looking forward to playing in front of the Adelaide supporters and being part of such a big club. I’m ready to give everything to the team and play my part in making this a successful season for the Club.”
Meyers joins Adelaide following a strong first season with Brisbane Roar, making 18 appearances during the 2025/26 campaign.
Born in Minnesota before moving to Melbourne in 2021, Meyers progressed through Southern United and the Emerging Matildas program before joining Melbourne City, where she made 14 senior appearances and was part of consecutive Premiership-winning squads.
The quick and direct winger has represented Australia through both the Junior and Young Matildas pathways.
Meyers said she was excited to begin the next chapter of her career in Adelaide.
“I’m so excited to be joining Adelaide United. It’s a great club with high ambitions, and I can’t wait to get started,” Meyers said.
“I’m really looking forward to playing in front of a great fan base, bringing the fans lots of joy and exciting moments, and working towards those ambitions together.”
Adelaide United Football Director Mitch van Gellekom said the two signings reflected the direction of the Club’s women’s program.
“We’ve been deliberate in rebuilding this squad with talented international and Australian players who can continue to strengthen the program, while also bringing in young players with enormous potential,” van Gellekom said.
“India and Kiera are both ambitious players who have already experienced strong A-League and national-team environments, and we believe Adelaide is the right place for them to take the next step.”
Breier and Meyers will link up with their new teammates next Monday ahead of the Reds’ 2026/27 A-League Women campaign as their pre-season officially commences.
