Empowering Girls Through Football Program celebrated at Adelaide United’s home opener

Adelaide United celebrated the impact of its Empowering Girls Through Football Program, with participants recognised at our Ninja A-League Women’s home opener on Saturday as they continue their journey of confidence, connection and personal growth.

Football can open doors far beyond the pitch. For the young women involved in Adelaide United’s Empowering Girls Through Football Program, that message was brought to life this Saturday, when participants from Adelaide Secondary School of English, Pinnacle College, St. George College and St. Paul’s College were invited to attend the Reds’ Ninja A-League Women’s home season opener against Perth Glory at ServiceFM Stadium.

Having spent eight weeks building confidence, strengthening connections and exploring leadership through the program, the girls were welcomed onto the pitch at half-time for a special group photo celebrating their involvement.

The celebration recognised both current participants and girls who have completed the program, acknowledging their commitment, growth and achievements. It also gave them the opportunity to experience the professional game from a different perspective, reinforcing that football is a space where they valued, supported and belong.
