Osama Malik will miss the Reds’ final AFC Champions League Group Stage match and subsequent Round of 16 encounter with a knee injury.
Adelaide United FC midfielder Osama Malik will miss the Reds- final AFC Champions League Group Stage match and subsequent Round of 16 encounter with a knee injury.
The setback means the Reds- 2011/12 Rising Star will be unavailable for the club-s remaining two matches in the AFC Champions League Preliminary Stage, comprising of the final group stage clash against Gamba Osaka on May 16 and the knockout Round of 16 game on May 29.
Malik succumbed to the injury in last night-s scoreless draw with Bunyodkor when his knee buckled in a tackle, which saw him come from the field in the 54th minute.
The club is confident Malik will be back for the AFC Champions League Quarter Finals in September, if the club reaches that stage, and for the start of the Hyundai A-League 2012/13 Season.
