AUFC are once again forging the way in youth development at grass roots level, as one of the only A-League clubs to be once again running a Development Academy.
The IGA and AUFC Development Academy commenced Monday of this week, with an increased turn out in the North location, a small yet keen group in the South, and a solid turnout in the Central location.
The Development Academy is bringing together a pool of talent from which AUFC can identify from. The kids also receive advice from past and present HAL players.
“The IGA and AUFC Development Academy is the perfect opportunity for the kids, with our coaches and players, to learn the skills of the game, following the direction of the National Curriculum”.
As per the curriculum, in the first week the sessions covered passing, and in the coming weeks of the 22 week program, the academy will cover 1 v 1, running with the ball, and first touch. There is also the opportunity to train on Hindmarsh, visit the dressing room of AUFC heroes, and meet the Head Coach Rini Coolen.
If you would still like to participate in the Academy, it-s not too late. You can find all details right here.
