The Reds were busy off the field, spending time with fans as well as taking time out to give back to the community in December.
Here is a quick recap of some of the things we have done within the community over the last month:
Port Adelaide Pirates ‘Come and Try’ session
Port Adelaide Pirates hosted a ‘Come and Try’ session held at their clubrooms and having signed up to the United Clubs Program, sponsored by the Motor Accident Commission, saw the Reds help support the occasion.
The ‘Come and Try’ event provided the opportunity for anyone between the ages of six and 12 have a go at playing football no matter the ability or skill level. Over 100 kids attended the session with both Nathan Konstandopoulos and Kristin Konstandopoulos lending a hand with drills and signing autographs with the assistance of Santa.
The United Clubs Program provides an opportunity for Adelaide United players to visit your club.
IGA and St Vinnies Christmas Hampers

Our Premier Partner IGA and key suppliers have come together, donating their time and products to help distribute 200 Christmas hampers for the St Vinnie’s Christmas Appeal in 2017.
On December 12, six Adelaide United and three AUFC Women players attended the packing of Christmas hampers at IGA’s distribution headquarters. Captain, Isaías, Taylor Regan, Ben Garuccio, Daniel Adlung, George Blackwood and goalkeeper Paul Izzo as well as Westfield W-League players Emma Checker, Alex Chidiac and Chelsie Dawber assisted Metcash staff, who were giving up their time, to fill hampers for the needy and less fortunate families during the festive season. During this appearance the players also spoke to the local media about the importance of giving back to those in need.
The hampers were then distributed on December 20 to two separate locations on the same night. United players Ben Warland, Jordan O’Doherty, Ryan Strain and Grace Abbey handed out hampers at the Elizabeth Vinnies Shop. Meanwhile, Apostolos Stamatelopoulos, Ben Garuccio and Nora Peat spent time supplying hampers in Kilburn.
