Following the FFA Cup 2018 Round of 32 draw, Adelaide United will host the Central Coast Mariners at a venue and date to be later confirmed.
Marco Kurz’s outfit will be desperate to avenge last year’s extra-time Final defeat against Sydney FC. Equally, building momentum ahead of the commencement of the Hyundai A-League 2018/19, by playing as many competitive games as possible, will also be paramount in laying the foundations for a successful campaign.
Previous meeting
It will be the second encounter in the competition between these two sides, after last meeting in the semi-finals of the inaugural tournament.
The Reds won that enthralling clash 3-2 at Coopers Stadium to advance to the Final, and subsequently clinch after beating Perth Glory.
In that game, a Sergio Cirio brace sandwiched an Awer Mabil goal while Josh Rose scored deep in injury time for the visitors, making for a nervous finish.
It's another all-@ALeague clash for #AUFC in this season's @FFACup! #FFACup #MagicOfTheCup

Reds’ invincible FFA Cup home record
Adelaide is unbeaten in all seven of its FFA Cup matches played on home soil. The Reds have managed four wins at Coopers Stadium, while claiming three scalps at the smaller, boutique venue of Marden Sports Complex.
Overall in Australia’s largest national cup competition, United have registered 11 victories, while losing three games in their 14 cup matches.
CCM in the FFA Cup
The Mariners have experienced scarce success in this competition, having never defeated a Hyundai A-League side in the FFA Cup.
Moreover, Central Coast have failed to progress beyond the last 32 in the previous three iterations of the competition – which included back-to-back losses against National Premier League teams Green Gully and Blacktown City in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
