Adelaide United Women is delighted to announce the re-signings of Emily Condon, Sarah Willacy, and Emily Hodgson ahead of the Westfield W-League 2018/19 season.
The trio all return to the Club on one-year contracts, strengthening Ivan Karlović’s squad in readiness for the new campaign.
Condon, who first joined the Reds for the 2013/14 season, featured in all 12 matches for the Reds last year and scored one goal.
And following a catalogue of impressive performances during the 2017/18 season the 20-year-old was called up to the Westfield Matildas and made her debut against Portugal at the Algarve Cup in March.
Hodgson, predominantly a right-back, has accumulated 18 matches since 2016/17. She recently spent the off-season with West Adelaide in the Women’s National Premier League SA.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper, Willacy, re-joins the Club and amassed nine appearances last season, delivering a number of assured displays.
Head Coach Karlović was pleased to have re-signed the trio and said they will continue to improve with another year of playing at the highest level.
“Emily Condon, Sarah Willacy, and Emily Hodgson are three young footballers with a lot of potential,” Karlović said.
“Each of them have strong individual qualities and, despite all being quite young, they have W-League experience from previous seasons, which will help in our new campaign.
“We saw what these girls are capable of at times last season, and now it’s about all three of them taking their games to the next level.
“Emily Condon started to make some huge inroads last season, being recognised with a call up to the Matildas, and we are expecting her to continue to raise her game.
“Emily Hodgson was recently involved with the Young Matildas and we are really looking forward to her taking her game to another level as well.
“As for Sarah, she has developed into a consistent W-League goalkeeper, who has worked really hard in the off season and I am sure she is ready for another competitive campaign.
“With hard work and determination, I’m sure all three girls can continue to improve their football and be valuable parts of our squad.”
