Adelaide United strolled to a convincing 3-0 win over Central Coast Mariners on Sunday, but according to Marco Kurz his side should have won by more goals.
The Reds collected their first win of the Hyundai A-League 2018/19 season on Sunday evening, demonstrating no signs of an FFA Cup 2018 Final hangover.
Craig Goodwin netted a second consecutive brace after scoring a double against Sydney FC in the Final, and Apostolos Stamatelopoulos bagged one upon his return from international duty.
And while Kurz was pleased with the overall performance, he felt his side were wasteful in the final third – particularly the last 15 minutes.
“I think we had the chance to score three or four more goals,” Kurz told reporters in post-match press conference.
“In the last fifteen minutes I’m not happy with our performance, it was not good enough.
“And that was the chat, to play serious until the end and play simple.”

Kurz said he was never worried his side would have lapses in concentrations and struggle to back up their midweek cup final triumph.
“It was for all of us a big day, a big night, a big victory and I think it was very important for the group to improve to the next level,” he explained.
“Now each of the boys are champions, last season we were finalists but this season we’re champions and it’s good to see the improvement.
“But the cup is done and our new goal is to reach the final in the league and we’ve to try and pick up each point from every match.
“And that was the reason (we won), I think the team is hungry for each game and we want to win every game at home or away.”
The German admitted he was impressed with how his players managed to open up the Mariners’ defence.
He revealed it was satisfying to see what was discussed in training, implemented during the game.
“It was our plan because we know their spaces in the back-four line,” he said.
“We created exactly the attacking movements we wanted and that we did in training and that was very good from our side.
“It was a very special game from our side and we had complete control of the game.”
