The Reds are full of confidence leading into Round 4, coming off their 2-0 win against Canberra United in last week’s Female Football Round match at Coopers Stadium.
Playing in their first home game for the Westfield W-League 2018/19 season, Dylan Holmes said the girls were thrilled to have the chance to play in front of a home crowd at Coopers Stadium, and owes the win to the support of fans.
“Coopers is such an amazing venue and the fans were great,” she said post-game.
“Whenever we had chances to score they were so loud and right behind us, so they really helped us to get over the line tonight.”
After an impressive start to the season, Adelaide United are the only Westfield W-League team yet to concede a goal, and are sitting comfortably in third place with two wins and a draw.

The 21-year-old midfielder said the team has had a strong focus on defence coming off pre-season, and hopes to continue their clean sheet streak when they face Melbourne City this Saturday.
“We worked on our defence a lot in pre-season, and week by week it’s getting better and better in terms of our defensive structures,” she said.
“We’ll take that and bring it into the next game and hope for another clean sheet.”
Coming off a 5-2 loss to Perth, Melbourne City will be looking to bounce back against an in-form Adelaide United.
Despite her team’s excitement and new found confidence following on from a two game winning streak, Holmes says there are no easy games at this stage of the Westfield W-League competition.
“I think all the teams are really tough to play, but these two wins give us a lot of confidence and belief in what we do and how we set up,” she continued.
“There’s a lot of positives to take out of the wins so far.”
