Adelaide United Youth has fallen 4-2 against 10-man Perth Glory Youth at Dorrien Gardens in Round 8 of the Foxtel Y-League 2018/19 season on Saturday.

Pacifique Niyongabire and Taras Gomulka were on target for the Young Reds in the second-half but it was rendered inconsequential as they slumped to a third straight loss in Conference A.

Adelaide made a positive start to the game before they conceded on 29 minutes when Jaidon Selden scored for the Glory.

Selden broke forward and eluded his opponents before finishing past goalkeeper, Isaac Richards.

But the hosts would be reduced to 10 players after Zayd Farah was brandished a second yellow card in the space of five minutes.

Daniel Stynes then made it 2-0 in the 54th minute when he profited from a fortuitous ricochet as the ball fell into his path after Selden saw his strike initially blocked.

Niyongabire halved the deficit for the Young Reds as Carlo Armiento’s shot was fumbled, allowing the winger to duly capitalise.

Substitute Ninko Beric almost had Paul Pezos’ side on level terms but his effort hit the post before being cleared off the line.

Stynes then added a second to his name when he dispatched a penalty on 77 minutes.

A minute later the onslaught continued and Ethan Brooks had the Glory 4-1 ahead, completing a neat attacking move.

Gomulka pulled a goal back on 80 minutes but it was too late to spark a Reds comeback.

The Young Reds will look to rebound when they take on Brisbane Roar Youth on Saturday, 19 January at Marden Sports Complex.
