Marco Kurz believes Adelaide United could have killed the game off sooner in their win over Western Sydney Wanderers on Friday night.
The Reds laboured to a 2-1 victory as Craig Goodwin starred with a goal and an assist in the stifling conditions at ANZ Stadium.
Kurz said while he was pleased to secure the three points, he stated his side made it more difficult than it needed to be.
“It was a hard game against a good opponent,” Kurz told Fox Sports after the match.
“We always made it too hard for us because we can score earlier the third or the fourth goal.
“And then we must fight until the end, but in the end I still think the victory was fair.”
The win pushes United further clear from the bottom four, but intimated they have plenty of room for improvement.

Kurz admitted the Reds must be more ruthless in front of goal to avoid nervous endings to games.
“When we score a goal we always want to score the next one,” he said.
“And in the second-half as well because we had a lot of big chances.
“That’s maybe our weakness that we have too many chances and don’t score enough goals.”
Western Sydney began the match with a new formation – a back five defensive line.
The German added his side were ready for whatever their opponents would throw at them.
He thought his players actually defended extremely well as WSW were largely kept at bay.
“We know the quality from them and they changed the line-up,” he continued.
“They played with five at the back but we’re always well-prepared against each system.
“They’ve a lot of young, quick, and technically good players, but I think today our defending was good.”
