Adelaide United will begin its FFA Cup 2019 title defence against Melbourne Knights in the Round of 32 at a venue and date to be confirmed.
The Reds became the first team to win the competition twice after triumphing past Sydney FC 2-1 in last year’s title decider, thanks to a stunning Craig Goodwin brace.
The sixth instalment of the FFA Cup will see Adelaide looking to defend its crown and aim to become the first side two win the FFA Cup back-to-back.
The Round of 32 fixtures will be played over three match days (Tuesday or Wednesday) between the 23 July – 7 August. Meanwhile, the Round of 16 will take place across two match days between 20 August – 28 August.
Further changes have been made in the latter stages of the tournament to avoid Member Federation Grand Finals, congestion, and assist Hyundai A-League clubs with their season preparations.
The Quarter Finals have been condensed to one-week over two match days between 17-18 September, while the Semi Finals will revert back to midweek fixtures on 1-2 October.
The FFA Cup Final 2019 will also be brought forward from last year to the evening of Wednesday, 23 October.
