After narrowly missing out on finals football last season, Georgia Campagnale says Adelaide United Women will be desperate to give it another crack this time around.
Campagnale put pen-to-paper, re-signing with the Reds for a sixth successive season ahead of Westfield W-League 2019/20.
The versatile defender has accumulated 49 appearances for her hometown Club and was delighted to be back, confident the team could build on last season’s finals tilt.
“It’s great and again with Ivan, it’s going to be a really great season,” she said.
“We’ve prepared well over the offseason so I’m really looking forward to it and hopefully we can go one step better making finals this year.”
The Reds agonisingly missed out on an inaugural finals appearance, finishing one point outside of the top four.
“We’ve been building to it over the last couple of years especially with Ivan,” Campagnale said.
“So it’ll be our goal again to reach finals and once you’re in the finals anything can happen.”
Excited to have re-signed with @AdelaideUnited and looking forward to the 2019/20 @WLeague season ⚽️ https://t.co/qEBGlQ4A3O

The 22-year-old spent the offseason with Adelaide City in the local Women’s National Premier League, and scored in the Grand Final to seal a historic treble.
Campagnale added her time with the Black and Whites served as solid preparation for the impending season.
“It was a great WNPL season so it’s given myself and also my other Adelaide City teammates a lot of confidence moving into the W-League season.”
Campagnale also praised AUFC Women Head Coach, Ivan Karlović, for his influence on establishing a strong team culture, predicated on diligence.
“Ivan is a great coach, he’s built a great team culture,” she continued.
“And that has made the team environment very hard working, we’re working for each other and we’re working as a team.
“He put in a great offseason program for us, so I feel like the players in the local league who did the program are more prepared for the upcoming pre-season and season.”
