Adelaide United can today confirm Ryan Kitto has extended his contract with the Club by a further two years.

Kitto’s new deal means he will remain contracted with Adelaide until the end of the Hyundai A-League 2021/22 season.

The 25-year-old made his debut for his hometown team in 2013 before returning three years later and has since established himself as a regular in the squad.

Having begun his career as a winger, Kitto has developed his game to become a reliable full-back, which is a testament to his adaptability and versatility.

Kitto, whose honours include back-to-back FFA Cups with the Reds, has amassed a total of 84 appearances for Adelaide, scoring 10 goals, including a dramatic 94th minute equaliser in last season’s Hyundai A-League Semi Final against Perth Glory, which forced the match into extra time.

Speaking on his decision to re-sign with his hometown team, Kitto said: “I have always felt privileged and honoured to play for Adelaide United and I’m very excited to be extending my time with the club.

“Adelaide is my home and I feel at home at this Club which has a special place in my heart, but also my family’s.

“The last few seasons have seen us bring more success and silverware to our fans and I’m hoping we can continue to add to that in the near future.

“We’re progressing well this season and after winning the FFA Cup for the second straight season, we’re full of confidence that we can bring that good-form into the A-League and have another great year.”

Director of Football, Bruce Djite, was delighted to have Kitto on-board for another two years, saying: “Securing Ryan for another two seasons is fantastic.

“As the football club for all South Australians, which represents the state week in week out, we believe it is very important to continue rewarding South Australian talent and Ryan is very deserving of this extension.

“Ryan has continued to grow and develop his game since he re-joined the Club in 2016 and we’re excited to see how much further he can grow.

“The versatility he has added to his game demonstrates his desire and passion to give everything to Adelaide United and we’re very happy he will continue to be a Red for at least the next two seasons.”
