Adelaide United advises midfielder, James Troisi, will undergo surgery on his right knee this morning.
The Club’s Doctor, Dr James Ilic, said: “The problem James has had has been a consistent source of discomfort to him for some time and has prevented him training fully.
“The issue was a bony spur on the outside of his knee that was persistently irritating him during movement.
“The surgery is a relatively simple procedure and we expect the recovery time for James to be approximately four weeks.”
Adelaide United Director of Football, Bruce Djite, said: “We’ve been monitoring James’ situation for a number of weeks now.
“Upon the team’s return from the COVID-19 break, James has been training with the squad and participated in both internal friendlies.
“However, after consultation with specialists, we decided it was best for James that he proceed with this minor procedure.”
