As Adelaide United gears up for the upcoming season, all eyes are on the Club’s strategic moves in the transfer market.
Adelaide United has made three new key signings this off season; Dutch Centre-back, Bart Vriends, speedy winger Dylan Pierias and exciting young forward, Archie Goodwin.
In addition to new acquisitions, the Club has also made a number of re-signings including Isaías, Javi López and Austin Ayoubi, whilst also extending the contracts of Ethan Cox and Panagiotis Kikianis.
Bart Vriends
Adelaide United announced the signing of Dutch defender, Bart Vriends, on a two-year deal, where he will be a Red until the end of the Isuzu UTE A-League 2025/26 season.
The 33-year-old joins the Reds on a free transfer from his Eredivisie club of eight years, Sparta Rotterdam after amassing 192 appearances, 11 goals, and the club captaincy.
Dylan Pierias
Adelaide United also announced the signing of former Olyroo, Dylan Pierias, early in the off-season.
Pierias joins us from Western Sydney Wanderers on a three-year deal, taking his contract to the end of the 2026/27 season.
Pierias ushered in a new-generation of talent in the Isuzu UTE A-League, becoming the first player born in the 21st Century to take to the field when he debuted for Melbourne City at age 16.
Archie Goodwin
The Reds first signing of the off-season came in early June, when it was announced Archie Goodwin was joining from the Newcastle Jets on a four-year deal, taking his contract to the end of the 2027/28 season.
Archie became the Newcastle Jet’s youngest player when he made his debut at 16 years and 106 days, and went on to play 44 matches in the A-League, scoring seven goals.

Isaías and Javi López
Isaías and Javi López signed a one-year contract extension, which will take them both to the end of their playing careers with the Reds.
The pair will be part of the 2024/25 senior leadership group in the dressing room, while completing their coaching badges together here in Adelaide.

Austin Ayoubi
The Club also announced the contract extension of South Australian talent, Austin Ayoubi, for an additional two years.
The 23-year-old midfielder has worked his way to a starting position since joining from local RAANPLSA side MetroStars in November 2023, showcasing exceptional skills and dedication both on and off the field.
Ethan Cox
Promising South Australian goalkeeper Ethan Cox extended his contract with the Reds for another three years, securing his commitment until 2027.
Having joined Adelaide United in 2019 from Football SA NTC, Cox has showcased his skills since his early days with stints at Salisbury United and Adelaide Croatia Raiders. His journey saw him join the FSA program in 2017 as a dual registered player.
Panagiotis Kikianis
Adelaide United Football Club also announced the five-year contract extension of Panagiotis “Pana” Kikianis, solidifying his commitment to the Club.
The young and talented defender has demonstrated his determination and grit on the field, affording himself the first 5-year contract in Isuzu UTE A-League history.
