Adelaide United were busy in the community during the month of August, visiting a number of local football clubs.
Reds players from the senior squad visited six clubs and the FFSA Cup Semi-finals at the Parks after they signed up to the United Clubs Program, brought to you by the Motor Accident Commission.
The United Clubs Program sees our star footballers help support local events from providing tips during training sessions to signing autographs.
Here is a recap of some of our visits:
United Club Visits
Salisbury East Junior SC
Ryan Strain and Jordan Elsey visited Salisbury East Junior SC on 2 August with over 100 kids present, participating in a Q&A session in addition to signing autographs.
White City
On 17 August, the Konstandopoulos brothers, Nathan and Kristin went to White City, answering questions from the 90 juniors in attendance. The pair also signed autographs on Adelaide United team posters and other merchandise.
Vipers FC
Ken Ilsø and Vince Lia visited Vipers at St Clair Oval on 22 August and provided football tips and advice during some training drills. Over 130 kids attended with the duo also taking questions about their respective careers and how they got into football. Ilsø and Lia also signed autographs.
FFSA Cup Semi-finals
At the junior FFSA Cup Semi-finals at the Parks on Sunday, 26 August, Reds forward, Pacifique Niyongabire, was there talking to you young aspiring footballers. He also signed autographs for the more than 1000 kids present throughout the day.
Noarlunga United
Louis D’Arrigo and Daniel Margush went to the home of Noarlunga United, Wilfred Taylor Reserve, for a United Club Visit on 27 August. Both signed autographs and spoke to the 130 plus kids in attendance about their footballing journeys to date.
Adelaide University SC
On 31 August, Mirko Boland and Isaac Richards attended Adelaide University signing autographs for the 80 juniors that were there. They also answered questions from the kids had about how they became professional footballers.
Western Strikers
On the same night, more than 250 kids from Western Strikers got to meet their heroes as Scott Galloway and George Blackwood visited the club. The pair signed autographs and participated in a Q&A session, responding to questions about their careers.
Adelaide United face APIA Leichhardt in the Quarter Finals of the FFA Cup 2018 on Wednesday, 26 September at Leichhardt Oval. Kick-off is at 7.00 PM ACST.
