Adelaide United were busy in the community in the month of December, giving back to those who needed it most around the festive period.
Foodbank – ‘Share what you CAN’
On Wednesday, 5 December, Adelaide United players Mirko Boland and Kahlia Hogg helped support our Charity Partner, Foodbank, for their Christmas Food Drive – ‘Share what you CAN’. There were several Food Drive locations across Adelaide. Boland and Hogg were present along with Foodbank volunteers at the Victoria Park location on Fullarton Road as people drove past and donated non-perishables on their way to work in the morning.
The Food Drive initiative also extended to our Round 8 Hyundai A-League match against Melbourne City. Fans attending the game were encouraged to donate coins and various items of canned foods and pastas at stations on Holden and Manton Streets. Foodbank was able to provide more than 2,375 meals from the $990.15 raised and the 198kg of food donated.

IGA Christmas Hampers
Adelaide United players and staff together with our Premier Partner, IGA, packed Christmas Hampers for those doing it tough at Metcash’s distribution headquarters on Tuesday, 11 December. Isaías, Craig Goodwin, Michael Jakobsen, Ken Ilsø, Nathan Konstandopoulos, Emily Condon, and Georgia Campagnale gave up their time to lend a helping hand, packing in excess of 100 hampers.
The Big Issue’s Sporting Sales Challenge
Ben Halloran and Taylor Regan were out selling The Big Issue’s special Christmas edition magazines and 2019 calendars worth $9 and $10 respectively on the corner of King William Street and Rundle Street, in front of Haigh’s Chocolate. The pair sold a few copies of each during the specified time, with the proceeds going towards vendor activities such as fortnightly breakfasts and magazine launch.
