Adelaide United farewells Madanha, Ayoubi and O’Neil 

Adelaide United can confirm Panashe Madanha, Austin Ayoubi and Bailey O’Neil have departed the Club following the conclusion of their contracts. 

Madanha, 21, made 38 senior appearances for the Reds after debuting in the 2022 Australia Cup. Prior to joining United, he represented Adelaide Olympic and FK Beograd, before progressing through Adelaide United’s NPL program, where he was part of the side that claimed the 2023 RAA NPLSA Championship. 

Panashe Madanha said: 

“I’m incredibly grateful for my time at the Club. To represent the senior team in the city where my football journey began was a dream come true. 

“Thank you to all the coaches, players, staff and supporters who made my time here so memorable. Adelaide will always be home, and I’ll always be proud to have worn the badge.” 

Ayoubi, 24, signed with Adelaide United in 2023 after impressing at senior NPL level with MetroStars. He previously played junior football with Adelaide Comets and WT Birkalla, before representing Adelaide City at senior level. He went on to make 39 appearances for the Club, scoring five goals, including a superb strike in the 2024 Australia Cup tie against Western Sydney Wanderers at ServiceFM Stadium. 

Austin Ayoubi said: 

“A big thank you to everyone at Adelaide United for the past few years. 

“It has been a privilege to represent my hometown Club, and I’m grateful to all the players, coaches, staff and fans for their support. 

“I’ve made many memories I’ll never forget and wish the Club every success moving forward.” 

O’Neil, 20, joined Adelaide United’s Youth Program in 2022 from Fulham United and became a consistent performer in the Reds’ NPLSA side. He made 55 appearances for the Youth Team, played a role in the 2023 RAA NPLSA Championship triumph, and captained the side during the back end of the 2024 campaign. 

Bailey O’Neil said: 

“I’m really grateful to Adelaide United for the opportunity to grow as a player and as a person. 

“I’ve learned a lot during my time at the Club and I’m thankful to the coaches, staff and players who have supported me.” 

Football Director, Mitch van Gellekom, thanked Panashe, Austin and Bailey for their contribution to Adelaide United. 

“Panashe, Austin and Bailey have each contributed to the Club in their own way and should be proud of the part they have played in our program,” van Gellekom said. 

“All three have shown commitment, professionalism and character during their time with Adelaide United, and we thank them sincerely for their efforts. 

“We wish Panashe, Austin and Bailey all the very best for the next chapter of their careers.”
