Adelaide United has today announced the launch of a new Junior Development Program, giving South Australian kids the opportunity to hone their football skills, while having fun and learning valuable life skills.
Headed-up by former player and fan favourite, Marcelo Carrusca, the program is an expansion of Marcelo’s development program, which has been a staple in the South Australian community for eight years.
Delivered in a safe and inclusive environment, the Adelaide United Junior Development Program is built with a strong emphasis on skill development, respect, teamwork, and social skills. Not only will the Program develop football skills, but it will teach valuable life skills to use off the field.
The Program underpins an important community strategic pillar for Adelaide United. The Reds recently conducted a survey with 700 Adelaide United fans to better understand their needs and feeling towards the club and football. One of the findings from this study was the sentiment towards the Reds being a custodian of the South Australian community.
Playing over 100 games for the Reds, Marcelo Carrusca, the newly appointed Head of Junior Development, said: “I am so happy to be back home at Adelaide United.
“The new Adelaide United Junior Development Program will teach South Australian children the fundamentals of football, in addition to skills off the field to be the best person they can be.
“Our coaches are amongst the best in Australia, and I can’t wait to have a positive impact on so many South Australian kids.”
