Adelaide United is pleased to announce that Luke Duzel has signed a new contract extension, committing his future to the Club until the end of the 2028/29 season, with an option for a further year.
The deal is fittingly confirmed on Duzel’s 24th birthday and reflects the Club’s belief in the defensive midfielder’s continued development and importance within the squad.
Since arriving at Adelaide United from Western United in 2022, Duzel has grown into a consistent and reliable presence in the middle of the park. This season has marked a breakout year for the 24-year-old under Head Coach Airton Andrioli, with Duzel taking significant strides in responsibility, consistency, and performance.
Duzel has made 35 appearances across all competitions, providing balance, defensive steel, and composure in possession. Earlier this season, he also opened his goalscoring account for the Club, finding the net in the 2–2 draw against Wellington Phoenix, underlining his growing confidence and influence.
Duzel said he was delighted to continue his journey in red.
“I’m thrilled to extend my stay at Adelaide United on a long-term deal. I want to thank the Club and Airton for the faith they’ve shown in me. I’m excited to continue working with an amazing coaching staff, my teammates, and the support staff, as well as our fans, who are the best in the league,” said Duzel.

Football Director Mitch van Gellekom said the extension was a strong endorsement of both the player and the Club’s development pathway.
