Adelaide United will face Vietnamese Champions Công an Hà Nội FC in the AFC Champions League Elite 2026/27 Play-Off on Tuesday 11th August at Hindmarsh Stadium.
The Reds’ return to Asia marks a significant moment for the Club, with Adelaide United set to play its first competitive match in Asian competition since May 2017, when it faced Jiangsu Suning in the group stage of the AFC Champions League.
The match will also see a familiar face return to Coopers Stadium, with former Red Stefan Mauk having recently made his move permanent after a successful season-long loan spell with the V.League 1 side.
The one-off Play-Off will determine Adelaide United’s Asian competition pathway for the 2026/27 season, with the winner to advance to the AFC Champions League Elite League Stage and the other side to continue its continental campaign in the AFC Champions League Two.

Adelaide United has a rich history in Asian football, highlighted by its run to the 2008 AFC Champions League Final and multiple appearances in continental competition.
