Alagich Vidmar 2024/25 Dianne Alagich Medal: Erin Healy

From San Diego to the summit of the Ninja A-League Women’s season — Erin Healy has been crowned the 2024/25 Dianne Alagich Medalist, capping off a brilliant debut campaign with Adelaide United.

Healy Honoured: Erin Healy Named 2025 Dianne Alagich Medalist

The award, named after the Club’s inaugural W-League captain and Matildas legend, recognises the player who consistently made a significant and positive impact on the team’s performance while upholding a professional attitude throughout the season. It was first awarded in 2008/09, with Dianne Alagich herself the inaugural recipient.

Now, 16 years later, the honour returns to the namesake’s legacy — celebrating a player who has quickly etched herself into Reds history with skill, leadership, and resilience.

The Making of a Medalist

At just 24 years of age, Erin Healy brought international experience and elite-level pedigree to Coopers Stadium, having spent the 2023/24 season in Portugal where she played 24 matches and netted 8 goals.

Upon arriving in Adelaide, the American midfielder immediately impressed with her versatility, intelligence, and work ethic — quickly becoming a key figure in Adrian Stenta’s squad. A former standout at Gonzaga University in Washington State, Healy’s comfort in both the defensive and attacking third made her indispensable in United’s midfield setup.

In her 19 appearances (15 starts), Healy logged 1,380 minutes, scored 7 goals (third in the team), and registered 2 assists. She ranked first in the squad for successful dribbles (48), third in the league overall, and second for total shots (65) and touches inside the opposition box (105).

She also shared third in combined goals and assists (9) — a testament to her impact across all phases of play.

A Coach’s Praise

Adelaide United Women’s Head Coach Adrian Stenta said Healy’s professionalism and competitive nature set the standard throughout the season.

“Erin’s been outstanding for us this year — not just in terms of her stats, but in the way she’s approached every single session and match,” Stenta said.

“She arrived off the back of a long season in Europe and hit the ground running. Her ability to drive the team forward, her physicality, and her creativity in tight areas — it’s made her such a valuable player. Even when returning from injury late in the year, she made a huge difference.”

“I’ve really enjoyed coaching Erin. She’s got a great mindset, she’s a team-first player, and her influence both on and off the pitch has been immense. This award is well-deserved.”

A Season to Remember

Beyond her technical contributions, Healy’s leadership and resilience — including a courageous return from injury during finals — inspired teammates and fans alike. Her equalising goal in the Semi Final First Leg against Melbourne Victory was a moment of class and composure that reignited belief in the Reds’ campaign.

In her first season in Australia, Erin Healy has set a benchmark. And with the Dianne Alagich Medal now to her name, she leaves no doubt that her influence on this team — and this league — will be long-lasting.
