Adelaide United Football Club would like to announce that after an extensive search, which included a thorough list of high-quality candidates, Ante Kovacevic has been appointed as the Club’s new General Manager of Football.
As the Reds’ new General Manager of Football, Kovacevic will oversee all football related operations associated with the Club.
Kovacevic joins the Club after previously being Perth Glory FC’s Football Operations Manager and following the recent vacancy made through the resignation of United’s Chief Executive Officer, Michael Petrillo.
During his playing career, Kovacevic enjoyed spells at local South Australian National Soccer League sides Adelaide City, where he captained the club, made 80 appearances, and scored seven goals, as well as Adelaide Raiders between 2000 and 2003. Later, in 2005, he signed for Perth Glory in the inaugural year of the Hyundai A-League where he played until 2007.
In 2009, Kovacevic became Glory’s Football Operations Manager, a role he retained until agreeing to join United, thus ensuring his knowledge of the Hyundai A-League is extensive and will allow him to thrive in his role the Club.
Adelaide United expects Kovacevic to commence his tenure with the Club in mid-October.
